OASIS

OASIS

OASIS Intergenerational Volunteer Reading Program

Education Level: Elementary (1st - 5th grade)

Program Sites: Deep Creek, East Gresham, East Orient, Hall, Highland, Hogan Cedars, Hollydale, Powell Valley, West Gresham

The OASIS reading tutor program is nationally recognized and active in all our elementary schools. Volunteer tutors provide one-on-one attention that helps students succeed. No previous experience is necessary; complete training and tools are provided to help volunteers feel confident while working with children. Once trained, volunteers are matched with a student to meet with once weekly for an hour of reading books, writing stories, and sharing experiences. OASIS volunteers are valuable, caring older adult mentors eager to be a role model.

2017-2018 Winter Training: January 30 & 31, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
